All the Way Through!

Thursday, August 26th, 2010 by admin

There are times when we all face challenges in our lives. Some challenges are easily overcome and some challenges seem like they are walls that are stopping us from moving forward.

I have been facing some of those challenges this past year. I split with my husband which has caused some financial and emotional issues and have had some pretty big challenges with one of my sons.

This week I have been up against one of those challenges. This morning as I was walking, the words came to me “all the way through”! Those weren’t my words but the words and voice of my coach Patti Keating ringing in my head. She reminded my of that just a couple of weeks ago when I attended her Mastermind group in Lake Oswego, Oregon.

Have you ever seen or done a board break? Do you know what I mean; that karate move where you break a board with your bare hand? Well I have done it before, 3 times to be exact!

The first time I did it, it hurt and it hurt bad. I was focusing on the breaking the board and I just couldn’t do it. After about a dozen attempts and a really sore amd bruised hand, they set it up, propped up on the floor and I broke it with my foot AND I was also wearing a shoe. It was not a huge breakthrough for me.

The second and third time I did it, it was much easier. Sure, enough I was able to break through the board the first or second attempt and I was able to really get the lesson or breakthrough experience. Why? Because this time I was trained to focus on the other side of the board, not the board itself; focus on the end result rather than the obstacle in front of you.

Those are huge words of wisdom. When we focus on the challenge, all our fears come up and so does our resistance. When we focus on the end result and keep our focus there, we can more gracefully move through the challenge.

I invite you to go all the way through the challenges that you are facing today. Focus on the end result, plan a party or celebration and set a date for it to happen, then step forward, engage the core energy of who you are and go all the way through.

Why Does a Dog Poop Whenever You Take It for a Walk: And What Does the Metaphor Have to do With Your Success?

Friday, August 20th, 2010 by admin

I used to have a fitness client that I would go to her house at 6am 3 times a week to help her keep fit. During the nice weather, we would walk outside and while she was focusing on cardio, I would walk along side with her dog, Teddy. It never failed, every time we walk Teddy, he would have to poop. It was like he knew when I was coming and would wait for the walk.

I had another fitness client that we would walk outside for her cardio sometimes as well and we would take her dog, Juliette with us. Even though it was generally mid-morning she would have to poop on the walk.

Now I have my own dog, Chica, and every morning when I take her for a walk the same thing happens. So this morning when I was walking Chica I started thinking; what is it about a walk that they just have to poop? Then it hit me; the moving of the body gets the inner systems of the body working to move out the waste and make room for more food and nourishment. But how does this apply to success?

Well, when I go for a walk or exercise in the morning, the movement gets my mind system working to begin excreting out the toxic waste that has accumulated in my head. All the what-ifs, the previous days failures, the I can’t do its, the impossibilities and all the other head trash begins to bubble to the surface.

As I continue moving, the movement of the body facilitates the release of all the mind crap and opens my mind for the good stuff to come in. I begin to feed on creative thoughts, ideas begin flowing, I begin to remember all of the successes and blessings that I have in my life. This physical movement of my body is critical to nourish success processes of my mind.

That’s why I feel that exercise, in whatever form it takes in your life, is not only important for physical health, it is important for mental health and cultivating the success mindset.

What kind of morning movement will you do to release your toxic mental waste and open yourself up for the food of success to flow into your mind? I challenge you to begin tomorrow, at minimum three days a week, and track the changes that happen as you open yourself to this amazing process.

In celebration of this profound insight, I am offering a complementary success strategy session to those who were inspired by this post. Just fill out the coaching form on my coaching page and I or my team will contact you to schedule your session.

Namaste,

Annette

I highly recommend Annette for business coaching. She is knowledgeable, intuitive, personable and on top of her game. I hired her when I needed someone to keep me accountable as I progressed in developing my own businesses. She has proven to be absolutely invaluable.

On several occasions when I've been stuck, she has assisted me with moving forward in several ways, including making a workable & holistic schedule, and clarifying my vision, exactly what I needed.

She has guided me in identifying my ideal client, my primary focus, strategies to stay focused, pricing structures for my services, effective brochure-design, and advice for marketing.

She's a wealth of knowledge--when I've been unsure of what resources may be available, she has a volume of information at her fingertips and has led me in the direction that is right for me.
